HOME

We made it. We’re home. We’re also a little shell shocked. At first we just wandered around and looked at everything. The plants in the yard are going gang busters and the fruit trees look like they set well, however, it is fox tail season and it’s like having 12 acres of weeds. Still beautiful in the farming areas though and by the creek and under the great black walnuts and valley oaks.
The house looks great too except we don’t know where anything is. We packed it up when we left…
We were treated to a warm welcome and delicious potluck. We have been listening to Barbara Kingsolver and family’s new book, Vegetable, Animal, Miracle on Audio CD and it seems like our community is following along well with consuming locally grown and in season organic foods. It was really satisfying to get a little caught up with what is going on around here and to share a tiny fraction of our trip with friends.
Tomorrow we go from a toe in the water to full submersion into our lives and the next step outside the Veggie Voyager.
