change

It's been so long since I blogged! The reason is that the files are large for the new Canon camera... Michael took this picture of me on my 64th Bday with it... finally a camera that can take photos in low light and get great detail.

These though are of Lake Almanor from the canoe and my old friend, the water proof Pentax option camera. The lake is so full we could paddle from the road and through the forest. Lots of birds were taking advantage of this protected shelter so we enjoyed many species.

When they say something wasn't worth a hill of beans I'm not sure what it means but this was impressive none the less. So much going on in the world...local stuff with redistricting so conservatives can have more clout, in Congress where the repugs are playing chicken to keep the rich and corporations from paying their fair share, at the state level where even the honest governor had to bull his way to a budget deal by wistful thinking because of repub stubborness about taxation. Meanwhile big oil is fracking away, bringing high carbon burning fuels across our most sensitive aquifers down from Canada, spilling oil into long stretches of pristine river... it was hard to get on without a good meditation today as my emotions were choking me.

We're home this weekend and it's hot but last week we were also at Antelope Lake and enjoying beauty there. 'Always have to keep recharging into love and beauty for the work there is to do in this world.
