Another Great Loop

A dark wall of intensely gray cloud has moved in to quiet the sun dancing here at Woodson Bridge County Park on the Sac. We’ve stopped to cook some ravs before heading the last bit to home, unhungry.

We did an enormous 50 gallon veggie loop, picking up 120 gallons. We visited our friend Jan in Medford, hooked back to Crescent City to do a Cancer Detection Program training, then south, through lots of Elk country, to Arcata to do a training. We also got to visit friends Angela, Ray, Lin and Jet in Bayside. Then on to another training in Willow Creek, visited friends Susan, Robert and Austin up Friday Ridge Road. Then we cut up Hwy 96 to do trainings with Yurok Health in Weitchpec and Karuk Health in Orleans. After that, we headed off the Klamath east on the Salmon River. Last night we camped where East and South Forks merge. I found an obsidian point and loved that I was able to touch the sharp napp of it before nestling it back into its history. We came back through Weaverville into big rain clouds that are still moving along through the valley now.

(This was a wee hike we took up Black Butte. Here the "trail" looks out to Mt. Eddy.)

It’s been a good week. Weezie turned 60 with a rousing and moving party at the grange then a quiet brunch the next day. Love and Lively Living Life to her in this wonderful decade of being the wonderful person she is.
